The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep expertise in AI/ML technologies, strong leadership skills, and a passion for building intelligent systems that deliver measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- System Architecture – Design end-to-end architecture: speech-to-speech pipeline, conversational AI (LLM/NLP), memory, backend services, and data flows.
- AI Integration – Oversee integration of LLMs, ASR/TTS services, proactive engagement logic, and cognitive assessment features.
- Technical Leadership – Mentor and guide a small cross-functional team (AI, full-stack, mobile, UX, data science).
- Trust & Privacy – Ensure secure data handling (PII/PHI), encryption, and HIPAA/SOC2 readiness.
- Product Collaboration – Work closely with product and clinical leads to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Hands-on Development – Write code where needed (backend APIs, AI pipelines, or integrations).
- Scalability & Reliability – Set up cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and ensure low-latency speech-first interactions.
- Compliance Awareness – Incorporate accessibility (ADA/WCAG 2.2) and healthcare privacy requirements into design decisions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Architecture & System Design: Proven experience designing distributed systems, real-time applications, or AI-driven products.
- Conversational AI: Familiarity with LLMs, NLP pipelines, and orchestration (memory, guardrails, evaluation).
- Speech Tech: Experience with ASR/TTS integration (WebRTC, streaming audio pipelines, or speech SDKs).
- Backend Development: Strong in Python/Node.js/Java (or similar), REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, event-driven systems.
- Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD, monitoring.
- Data & Security: Knowledge of encryption, secure data storage, PHI/PII handling, RBAC, and audit logging.
- Accessibility & UX Awareness: Understanding of ADA/WCAG standards and how tech choices impact elder-friendly design.
- Leadership: Track record of leading small engineering teams, mentoring, and driving execution in startup/MVP environments.
